Excellent large, solid Samarskite-(Y) specimen with some crystal faces and an impressive “heft” from the famous Spruce Pine Pegmatite District, Mitchell County, North Carolina, USA. Features a fantastic late 19th century A.E. Foote Mineral Company (Philadelphia) label on one side, with notation describing the radioactivity and (“% of uranium”) in the specimen! Too cool!! Fantastic provenance!
